AIta Mae (Jarrette) Vandergriff

AIta Vandergriff, 95, formerly of Farmington, passed away on April 28, 2018, at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston, MO. AIta was born on September 3, 1922 in Doe Run and graduated from Doe Run High School in 1940. During World War II, she worked in the office of the Rice-Stix plant in Farmington. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmington.

On October 27, 1946, she married Willard C. Vandergriff; he preceded her in death on August 16, 1992. Also preceding her in death was an infant daughter, Camille.

AIta is survived by one son and two daughters, Ed (Lynn) Vandergriff of Chaska, MN; Lillith Stoessel of Delmar, NY, Jill (John) Haas of Charleston, MO. Also surviving are two grandchildren, April (Richard, Jr.) Johnson of New Orleans, LA, and David Vandergriff of Minneapolis, MN, as well as three great-grandsons, Richard III (Tres) Johnson, Pax and Griffin Johnson all of New Orleans.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 11:00 AM until service time of 1:00 PM at C. Z. Boyer & Son -Taylor Chapel in Farmington with Pastor Rocky Good officiating. Burial to follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Farmington Public Library (Genealogy Division), the Alzheimer's Association, or an organization of the donor's choice.
