Almalouise Ballhausen passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Jefferson City, Missouri, at the age of 82 years, 11 months & 26 days. Almalouise was born Jan. 31, 1925, in St. Francois County, MO., and was the daughter of Herman A. Kassabaum & Bertha Louise "Birdie" (Kinneman) Kassabaum. Almalouise married Theordore John Ballhausen in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1972. Also preceding were: 1 Sister-In-Law, Wilma 'Crawford' Kassabaum; 1 Brother, Oliver Kassabaum; a Nephew, Robert Kassabaum & a Great-Niece, Kelley Kassabaum.

Almalouise was: * a lifelong member of the Doe Run Methodist Church; * she worked for 30 years at the Farmington State Hospital, retiring in 1987, as Chief Resources Investigator; * she was a member of Business and Professional Women's Club & The Eastern Star. * she worked tirelessly for and loved dearly her church family and community. * she was devoted to her family and adored her three grandchildren. She will fondly be remembered for her gardening; homemade cookies; arts & crafts; traveling with friends and her dedication to walking for fitness.

Survivors Include : her daughter, Teddi Steck and husband, Greg of Centertown, Missouri; 3 Grandchildren: Abigail; Jared & Zachary Steck. Nephews: Donald Lee Kassabaum and wife, Vickie, of Arnold, MO; James Ronald Kassabaum and wife Brenda of Farmington; John Herman Kassabaum and wife, Judy of Farmington. Also surviving are many beloved Great-Nieces; Great-Nephews & Cousins.

Visitation : Saturday, Feb. 2nd, 9-11 a.m. @ The Doe Run United Methodist Church, followed by Funeral Services there at 11:00 a.m.

Officiating : Rev. Noel Stephens, assisted by Rev. Eddie Bone & Rev. Howard Miller.

Interment : Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington.

Memorials to : * The Doe Run United Methodist Church; * The Alzheimer's Association &/or * The St. Jude Children's Hospital
