            Ross Cowin, 74, of Bonne Terre, passed away September 15, 2016, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.  He was born May 12, 1942 in St. Louis, to the late Charles and Mildred (Phelps) Cowin.  Ross served his country in the United States Air Force, where he worked on the Gemini Project.  He later became a business owner/operator.  He spent many years working at Meridian Medical Technologies, all the while focusing on his main passion of raining his five children.  He was a member of the Sonrise Baptist Church in Bonne Terre and a member of the American Legion in Farmington.   

            He is survived by his loving wife, Lana (Basden) Cowin; five children, Shelly (Mrs. Tracy) Odgers, Aaron Cowin and wife Regina, Angela (Mrs. Kevin) Flieg, Brian Cowin and wife Tonya, and Rebekah Cowin; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five siblings, Peggy Lilly Nelson, Charles Cowin, Jerry (Karen) Cowin, Mike (Carol) Cowin, and Robin (Joyce) Cowin.

            A memorial visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The memorial service will be held at the Sonrise Baptist Church in Bonne Terre, Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM.  Inurnment will be held at Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 PM, in Hillsboro.
