Versa Betty Stokes

Versa "Betty" Stokes, 71 of Mitchell, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at NHC Health Care in Desloge. She was born June 29, 1940.Versa was a member of the Gumbo Assembly of God Church, as well as a member of the Gumbo WM Quilters. She is preceded in death by husband, Bill Stokes; son, Ervin Stokes; mother, Virginia Eunice Ligue McCann; father, William Snedacor; sister, Vivian Jane Jones; and granddaughter, Nicole Stokes. Versa is survived by sons, Darrell Ross, Shawn (Teresa) Stokes, Chris (Artie) Stokes, Chuck (Melissa Jo) Stokes; daughter in-law, Melissa Stokes; siblings, Paulette Knight, Barbara Weltman, Debra Rae (Randy) Cantrell, Terry Lee Strother, Bruce Avery (Marlene) McCann; grandchildren, Michelle, Amanda, Amy, Katie, Kristen, Linzie, Cody, Derick, Ryan, and Angel; great grandson, Austin. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.The service will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel in Desloge at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 with Rev. JC Moore officiating.Interment will follow at Mitchell Cemetery.Memorials can be made to Gumbo Assembly of God Church.
