Vernon Wood

Vernon David Wood, 82, of Mineral Point passed away January 9, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 23, 1932 to the late Earl and Francis (Jackson) Wood. Also preceded in death by granddaughter, Shelby Dawn Dickie-Davis; brother, Donald Wood. Mr. Wood served in the United States Navy for 10 years. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Obenhaus) Wood; children, Katrina Davis, Dwayne Davis, Charminade (Michael) McCoy; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, John Sawyer Jr., Latasha Davis, Tyler McCoy, Aubre Drennen, Mason Sawyer and Maya Sawyer; brother, Jerry (Carole) Wood, sisters, Andrea (Joel) Orona, Sharon Fields; many nieces, nephews and other family survive. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 pm to 7 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, funeral service will be at 7 pm at the C.Z. Boyer Chapel. Inurnment will be Friday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
