Ruth A. (Sherman) Culton of Bonne Terre passed away December 7, 2014 at Des Peres Hospital. She was born September 19, 1937 in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Rayford and Mary Ruth (Millen) Sherman. Also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Norman Culton; daughter in infancy, Robyn Ann Culton; granddaughter, Rikki Lea Culton; great grandchildren, Scottie Lee Murdock, Natalynn Nicole Murdock, Madison Paige Murdock, and Michael Max Murdock. Ruth was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was involved with Democrat politics since 1968. For several years she was the chairmen of the St. Francois Co. Democrat Central Committee. She was also a member of St. Francois Co. Democratic Club, The Terre Du Lac Democrat Club, the 8th District and Senatorial District Club. She enjoyed politics and the many friends she met along the way. One of the many friends she met just happen to be former President Bill Clinton. She was a lifelong Democrat and felt very strong for their values. Ruth is survived by her two sons, Ricky Lee Culton of Farmington, Kevin Earl (Sheila) Culton of Frankclay; one daughter, Dawn (Carl) Warren of Knob Lick; a sister in law whom was raised in the home, Mary (Ray) Stotler of Bonne Terre; six grandchildren, Amy (Josh) Dugal, Wendy (Chris) Henson, Jayson (Lena) Hambrick, Kevin Murdock, Colby Murdock and Travis Culton; seven great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Isabella Dugal, Cody and Conner Robertson, James Kincaid, Cheyanne and Bobby Hambrick; a chosen granddaughter, Kristie Myers (Philip) Dante and sons Phillip and Nicholas of St. Peters; one sister Patricia Bess of Desloge; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive. Visitation will be Tuesday December 9, 2014 from 4 pm to 8 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Funeral mass will be 11 am Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre with Rev. John Schneider officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Church, Autism Speaks, or American Cancer Society.
