Monica Thomas

Mrs. Monica Thomas passed away early Thursday evening, February 16, 2017, at the Tampa General Hospital, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 69 years, 5 months & 17 days. Monica was born on August 29, 1947, in Wiesbaden, Germany, to Willi Unrath and Marianne 'Marr' Unrath.

Monica came to the USA in Nov. 1965 with her husband, Randy, who was a Sergeant in the US ARMY. They were married on May 24, 1965, in Mainz, West Germany. She became a US Citizen in July 1976. She was a stay at home mother until May 1987, when she worked for Casey's General Store until Dec. 12, 1988. Then she started to work at WalMart, where she retired from on July 12, 2012. She loved to fish, she was a big NASCAR fan, but most of all devoted to her six grandchildren.

Survivors include: her husgband, Randy Thomas, of rural Madison County, MO. 3 children: Martin L. (& Carolyn) Thomas, of Pilot Knob, MO; Christel A. Miller, of rural Farmington & Samantha L. (& Christopher) Knight, of Tampa, FL. Also, 6 grandchildren: Sarah Bryant, Mikayla Snowdell, Anna Thomas, Autumn Thomas & twins - Sawyer & Lucy Knight.

Visitation : Thursday, 5-9 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service, Inc.

There will be no funeral services.

Private Burial was held : Friday, 9:30 a.m., at Thomas Family Cemetery, Madison County, MO.
