John William Lachance

John William Lachance

            John LaChance, 74, of Park Hills, passed away surrounded by his family, at home, on March 22, 2016. He was born February 22, 1942, in Madison County, to the late Harold Owens and Rosella (Shrum) LaChance. He served his country for over 8 years, in both The United States Army and The Army National Guard. John was a member of the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon in his church for 37 years and was serving as Chairman, at the time of his death. John was also the owner / operator of LaChance Locksmith for 40 years and was a Supervisor at Trimfoot, for over 30 years.

             John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn (Griffin) LaChance; two sons, Larry W. LaChance and wife Jodi, as well as Tim W. LaChance and wife Kelly; grandchildren, Brittany Hannah, Brittney (Mitch) Shelton, Rebecca LaChance, Amanda LaChance, Melissa LaChance, Dakota LaChance, and Morgan LaChance; three great-grandchildren, Raegan, Kaitlyn, and Mason; siblings, Gail Strasser and Dale (Nancy) LaChance.

             Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, March 25, 2016, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Park Hills, at 9:00 AM with service following at 11:00 AM. Brother Cody Alley will be officiating and Brother Wayne Phillips and Pastor Curt Gwartney will assist. Interment follows at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington. Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice.
