Jay Kay Sr.

James “Jay” Edward Kay, Sr., age 87, of Desloge, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at his residence at Desloge surrounded by his family. He was born on Monday, February 10, 1936, in Iron Mountain to the late Cletius and Luticha {Nieson} Kay.

Jay worked as a millwright with Chrysler Motor Company and retired after 22 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed collecting antique toys, making parts for pedal cars and spending time with his grandchildren. Jay was of Catholic faith.

In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Kay and wife Norma; brother-in-law, Clyde Williams.
Jay is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sandra {Lashley} Kay; children, Anita Warman and husband Michael, James E. Kay, Jr. and wife Brenda, Karen Beatman; eight grandchildren, Rebecca, William, Amanda, Jennifer, Meghan, Tabetha, Tony and Katie; thirteen great-grandchildren, Layne, Alyssa, Ryker, Violet, Ada, Emalee, Owin, Carter, Skylar, Kenzie, Kelsey, Emma and Sydney along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
