Homer L Stotler

            Homer Stotler, 94, of Desloge, passed away March 10, 2016 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born October 4, 1921, in Czar, to the late Preston and Celia (Casebolt) Stotler. Homer was a member of the Parkview Freewill Baptist Church in Desloge as well as a former trustee for the church. He was a decorated WWII Veteran in the 691st Field Artillery and was a two bronze star recipient. Homer also help start and was a five year member, of the Desloge Auxiliary Police Department, as well as, special Deputy Sherriff.

             He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 67 years, Bertha (Ramsey) Stotler; infant son, Larry Dean Stotler; three brothers, Lynn, Jess, and Ed Stotler; five sisters, Mae Short, Beatrice Easter, Hallie Wills, Eula Brakefield, and Alma Stotler.

             Homer is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, which he loved as his own.

             Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, March 11, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The service will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM, with Rev. Vernon Long officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park Mausoleum, in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be directed to the Parkview Freewill Baptist Church in Desloge.
