Evelyn Maxine Clay

Evelyn Maxine Clay, 83 of Desloge and formerly of Farmington, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Community Manor in Farmington.She was born on August 8, 1928 in Desloge, the daughter of the late William J. (Bill) and Mary L. (McHenry) Mueller.She was united in marriage on August 16, 1947 to (Billy) Bob Clay in Salina, Kansas.Bob and Maxine had two daughters, Connie and Cathy, and were married for 56 years until Bob preceded Maxine in death on December 3, 2003.She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Mueller.Maxine, a member of Parkview Free Will Baptist Church in Desloge, was a homemaker and was especially devoted to her family. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Connie (Mrs. Wayne) Barnes of Desloge, and Cathy (Mrs. Roy) Davis of Farmington; grandchildren, Shawn (Courtney) Barnes of Ashland, and Kim (Mrs. Craig) Duncan of Farmington; great-grandson, Mason Duncan; sister, Pat (Mrs. Dale) Pratt of Desloge; aunt, Anna Hahn of Desloge; brother in-law, Jack Clay of Farmington, sister in-law, Shirley Slover of St. Louis and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends also survive. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.Service will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Craig Bodenschatz officiating.Interment will follow at McHenry Family Cemetery near Desloge.Memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice of Park Hills.
