Charlene May Huskey

Charlene May Huskey, age 91, of Bonne Terre, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at Country Meadows Nursing Home, in Park Hills. She was born on Monday, June 6, 1932, in Richwoods, to the late George W. and Gertrude (Miller) Lucas. Charlene was a long-time member of the Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church in Bonne Terre.

Charlene had a great love for cooking for her family, sewing and gardening. In addition to her family her greatest passion was being co-founder of Shared Blessings. She took delight in making quilts for all her family and friends and any summer day you could find her in her garden. Charlene enjoyed family reunions and was known for her peach cobbler and wedding cakes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Huskey; two daughters, Donna Stewart, and Carla Rutledge; four brothers and five sisters.

Charlene is survived by her loving children, Mike (Anita) Huskey, Terri (Mike) Carrow, Nancy Cole, Tim (Angel) Huskey and Dennis (Teresa) Huskey; son in-law, George Stewart; seventeen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that survive. Charlene will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her along with her memorable peach cobbler.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church in Bonne Terre, from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. until service time of 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Brother Rich Barker officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shared Blessings in Charlene’s memory. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
